Glemham are now seeking an experienced, talented and motivated Underwriter to join our friendly and dynamic team in Norwich.  

 

About the role 

As part of our specialist Underwriting team, you’ll support commercial brokers nationally, delivering a professional and efficient underwriting service. You’ll be responsible for underwriting new business, renewals, and endorsements, and producing accurate documentation in line with our underwriting authority. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Underwrite and issue quotations, renewals, and endorsements within agreed service levels.

  • Ensure full compliance with underwriting standards, procedures, and delegated authority. 

  • Liaise effectively with external brokers, clients, and insurers to ensure clear and timely communication.

  • Manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines and exceed service expectations.

  • Support the delivery of high-quality customer service and maintain strong working relationships across the business. 

Location: Norwich office 
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience) 
Job type: Full-time, permanent, office-based

  • Has good IT proficiency (including Word and Excel).

  • Has the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes internally and externally. 

  • Has knowledge of the UK insurance market.
